The Department of Chemical Engineering at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology has been advancing chemical engineering education and research for over five decades. Today, the department offers undergraduate, integrated master’s, and doctoral programmes that prepare students to address complex challenges in process engineering, energy, advanced materials, sustainability, and emerging technologies. The department emphasizes scientific inquiry, analytical thinking, and engineering design through a curriculum grounded in transport phenomena, thermodynamics, reaction engineering, process design, process control, and computational methods. Laboratory instruction, simulation, design projects, industrial training, and research are integrated throughout the learning experience, enabling students to translate engineering principles into practical solutions.
